Dear Producers of Mayday and TV Stations:
I have been informed that Cineflix is preparing an episode on the fatal crash of the Polish Government Plane - Polish Air Force Tupolev Tu-154M - in Smolensk on April 10, 2010 as part of its documentary series on plane crashes (Mayday).
Title of the series:"Following Orders"
Description: On 10 April 2010, a plane carrying the Polish president, Lech Kaczyński and his wife crashed on landing at Smolensk North Airport. All 96 people onboard perished. The cause of the crash was pilot error.
The  cause of the crash: CFIT (Controlled flight into terrain), Pilot error.
I understand that this episode will be based on the version of the events presented by the Russian Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC), which has been proven false and invalid. In fact, the so called investigation conducted by the IAC (de facto controlled by Putin) cannot be even called an investigation by any internationally accepted standards and procedures used to investigate fatal aircraft catastrophes (http://www.doomedsoldiers.com/polish-tu-154-crash-russia.html). The way the evidence from the crash was handled by the Russian authorities is a criminal act of supression and destruction of a key evidence and gross violation of international standards. This criminal activities are exemplified by the following facts:
 
  • Russians were openly destroying the wreckage of the plane and the crash site. See footage taken on the second day after the crash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCjSOO-kmyA
  • Russians continue to withhold the wreckage of the plane, black boxes, and key electronic devices containing classified Polish and NATO information, all of which are the property of Poland.
·        No detailed records of rescue operations were provided. The treatment of the bodies violated the dignity of the victims and traumatized their families. The medical examination of the bodies was inappropriate, post mortem reports were grossly inaccurate and incomplete. 
  • On Russian request, no postmortem investigations on victims’ bodies buried in Poland were allowed. The families of the victims are not allowed to investigate the matter by independent forensic experts(see an interview with professor Michael Baden, a renowned American forensic pathologist at http://vod.gazetapolska.pl/1419-exclusive-interview-prof-michael-baden-english-version) 
  • Russians manipulated and tampered with key evidence – parts of the aircraft were hidden, the plane debris were relocated within the crash site, witness testimonies were changed, readings from the black boxes and the Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS) instrument were altered.
  • Officials in Russia and Poland, who actively participated in these criminal acts, were awarded with promotions and other forms of rewards.
  • The cause of the crash in the official Russian report was predetermined. The pilot error was announced simultaneously with the crash. The official reports merely confirmed the predetermined conclusion that serves the interests of Russia and the subservient Polish government. 
  • Offers of assistance in investigation from NATO, EU and other countries were rejected. 
 
An on-going inquiry conducted by the Polish Parliamentary Commission, led by the MP Antoni Macierewicz, proved that the official conclusions of the Russian “investigation” are false and invalid. Please refer to the presentation of the findings of the Parliamentary Commission presented to the European Parliament on March 28, 2012 (http://smolenskcrash.eu/).
 
  • The crash was not caused by the pilot error. The pilots correctly planned and executed one landing approach and 'Go Around' maneuver to proceed to an alternate airport. However for still unknown reasons, instead of ascending, the plane went into accelerated descent.
  • Cockpit Voice Recorder transcript shows no psychological pressure exerted on the pilots by their superiors to land “at any means”.
  • The aircraft did not make a contact with the birch tree, and its wing was not cut off by the birch. The plane was flying 14 meters above the local tree line at that time.
  • Expert analysis of the TAWS and the Flight Management System data, satellite photos and hundreds of photographs of the wreckage support the hypothesis that the crash was caused by the on-board explosion. The explosions occurred in mid-air, annihilating 40% of the aircraft’s mass and shredding passengers’ bodies to unrecognizable pieces.
 
For these reasons, I am requesting that Cineflix rethink the episode. In its present form, the episode slanders the good name of the people of Poland as well as the victims of the crash and spreads false information. 
 
For this reason, I am also requesting that the TV stations do not air this episode. If it were to be aired in its present form, it would spread false information about the Smolensk crash and it would be perceived as intentional misinformation of the public by your station. This would meet with organized protests from the Polish people and its supporters all over the world and the mass boycott of your TV station.
